IT3(d) & Section 18A

What information is required on a Section 18A receipt?

A Section 18A receipt must contain the required information about the approved organisation, the donor, the donation and the receipt itself.

This information is important because the receipt supports the donor’s income tax deduction claim and may also form part of IT3(d) reporting.

In simple terms:

Organisation details = who issued the receipt

Donor details = who made the donation

Donation details = what was donated and when

Receipt details = the unique record of the Section 18A receipt

The receipt information must be accurate because IT3(d) reporting is based on Section 18A receipt data.

If the receipt fields are incomplete or incorrect, the IT3(d) data may also be incomplete or incorrect.
