About Farida

Farida Lavangee is a SAICA-registered Chartered Accountant, an IRBA-registered auditor and Director of Audit at Turning Point Chartered Accountants, a role she has held since 2015. She brings over 22 years of audit experience and 11 years of specialised consulting dedicated to non-profit organisations.

Her expertise spans NPO audits, compliance, risk assessment and financial systems optimisation. Accredited to perform USAID and CDC audits, Farida also helps organisations modernise their financial workflows as a certified Xero Cloud Accounting Advisor, with attention to SARS reporting and other regulatory requirements.

Her experience also encompasses financial management and accounting, VAT and tax. As Director of Audit & Reporting, she leads TPCSA’s NPO and donor-funded audit portfolio as the firm’s named engagement director, serving a large number of non-profit organisations.

Accredited to perform USAID Yellow Book and Green Book fund audits, her responsibilities include statutory audits of NPOs and donor-funded entities, pre-issuance reviews on behalf of the Auditor-General, and agreed-upon procedures for donor funding. She manages audit teams and maintains client relationships across the firm’s NPO client base.

Farida served as a Senior Audit Lecturer at one of South Africa’s leading universities. She has developed and presented technical training courses for the NPO sector on financial reporting, compliance and governance.

Her technical and training work covers IFRS and International Auditing Standards. Recognised for her specialist sector expertise, she has frequently been invited to speak on media platforms and at corporate events about the profession, auditing, financial management and the non-profit landscape.
